Pamala Proverbs, PhD, MBA, APR, ABC

Pamala P. Proverbs, Ph.D., MBA, APR, ABC is the managing director of PRMR Inc. She is a recent instructor and graduate of the College of Journalism and Communications, University of Florida. A career public relations practitioner of over twenty years, she approaches her scholarship pragmatically. Her research interests include corporate social responsibility, crisis communications and issues management particularly related to gender and development. Her recent co-authored publications included President Trump vs. CEOs: A Comparison of Presidential and Corporate Agenda Building in the Journal of Public Relations Research and Mediated Public Diplomacy in the Digital Age: Exploring the Saudi and the U.S. governments’ Agenda-building during Trump’s Visit to the Middle East in Public Relations Review and a book chapter entitled - Political Public Relations in a Changing World: Implications for Future Theory and Practice in the book Political Public Relations, Concepts Principles and Applications.

In her role at PRMR Inc. she has written several strategic communications and crisis management plans for companies in a number of sectors including the private, public, multi-lateral and non-
governmental sectors.

Before establishing PRMR Inc., she spent ten years managing the reputation of the largest newspaper company in Barbados, The Nation Publishing Co. Limited; first as its public relations officer and later as the corporate communications manager. She was responsible for establishing the public relations department at the Nation, which was later renamed, corporate communications.

Proverbs is the only practitioner in the region with accreditations from both the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the International Association of Business Communications which is a mark of distinction. She is also a member of these organizations and was recently elected international delegate-at-large with PRSA.
